Exhibitions, a walk, and an educational program related to the illustrator Joanna Concejo

Openings at the University of Tartu Library, Tartu City Library, and Toy Museum will take place on May 7th at 13:00 as part of a walk starting from the ruins of the Cathedral.

Exhibition of Joanna Concejo, a Polish-born illustrator living in France. She has illustrated works by Olga Tokarczuk and received the main prize at the 2023 Tallinn VII Illustration Triennial. The exhibition includes illustrations from books such as “Mr. Nobody”, “The Sea”, and others.

16.05.2024 “Journey through Tartu with Joanna Concejo”

12:00–14:00 Visit to the exhibitions “This is my world – Joanna Concejo’s illustrations” begins at Tartu City Library, then proceeds to Tartu Toy Museum, and finally to the University of Tartu Library.
16:00–18:00 Meeting with Illustrator Joanna Concejo in the playroom of Tartu Toy Museum. Getting acquainted with the illustrator’s creative journey includes making and tasting of a cake.
19:00–20:30 Olga Tokarczuk’s and Joanna Concejo’s bedtime story “Lost Soul” with surprise guests and book presentation at the Biblioteek bookstore (Aparaaditehas). The illustrator will give autographs.

17.05. – 16.06.2024 Exhibition “One must find a place for oneself, sit down, and wait. Joanna Concejo’s soul searches in illustration” at the Estonian National Museum.

10.00 – 12.00 Joanna Concejo’s illustration masterclass “Illustration – how to start?” at the National Museum, with a maximum of 20 participants and pre-registration required. Participants are expected to have a basic art education.
