Latgalian Rap at Prima Vista Literary Festival

Following the Latgalian-Võro-Seto-Kadrina poetry evening, the Latgale (Latvia) rap princess ŪGA, alongside the girl group “juos īluos līluos”, will take the stage on May 10 at 8.30 PM at the Kultuuriklubi Salong.

ŪGA began her musical journey in 2016 when she joined the Latgale hip-hop collective AUSMEŅA RECORDS. Raised among wolves but transformed into a refined lady, she is widely known in Latvia as the Latgalian rap princess.

In 2021, ŪGA released her debut album “LG ir HH,” which gained widespread recognition and won two awards: “Zelta Mikrofons” (Annual Latvian Music Recording Award) and “Boņuks” (Latgalian Culture Award).

In 2024, ŪGA released her second studio album “Čardaukšu rūtaļa,” which has won over the hearts of listeners. In this album, she confidently establishes herself as a hip-hop artist, incorporating elements of R&B and Jazz music.

“juos īluos līluos” consists of three Latgalian singers with stunning voices—Laura Svikša (Rēzekne), Amanda Lapa-Slobožaņina (Daugavpils), and Deina Misāne (Ludza). Each member contributes her unique charm and distinctive vocal timbre to the ensemble. The group was formed as part of a project dedicated to the legacy of Latgalian poet Seimaņs Putāns. After their initial collaboration and joint songwriting, the ensemble decided to continue making music together.

The concert is free of charge. Everyone is invited to experience Latgalian rap!
