Prima Vista charity project “A Book Writes a Person”
Traditionally, the Prima Vista literature festival includes a charitable initiative titled “A Book Writes a Person”, which aims to highlight the importance of reading and help broaden the range of reading materials available to different social groups. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all Estonian publishers who have supported us over the years with their generous donations! This year, we are collecting books for the residents of the Tartu city homes run by the SA Hoolekandeteenused foundation. The foundation’s mission is to create opportunities for people with psychosocial disabilities to lead active lives within the community. Additionally, the residents of these Tartu homes are warmly invited to a concert by folk musician Annika Mändmaa at Tartu City Library on 8 May.
The formal handover of the donation and the acknowledgement of the participating publishers will take place on May 6th at the book fair in Tartu Town Hall Square.
